Turning a business setup calculator into a qualification and proposal journey

I led a live Dubai platform that connected a detailed customer questionnaire with qualification, proposal records, CRM assignment, advisor follow-up, booking and conversion measurement.

The working context

What I was solving and what I owned.

The problem

A calculator can give someone a number and still leave the commercial journey broken. The platform needed to collect enough context to support a useful next step, preserve acquisition data and give the receiving team a record they could act on.

My contribution

I worked as the product owner and funnel architect across the questionnaire, proposal journey, CRM logic, advisor assignment, booking paths, lead scoring and measurement. I also helped move the product from a public pricing idea toward a consultation-led journey when the commercial direction changed.

I have kept the organisation, product and people private. I also left out exact figures and internal details that could identify the work. The status above tells you how far the implementation actually went.

How I worked through it

The choices behind the implementation.

If you are working on a similar system, these are the decisions I would examine before choosing tools or adding more automation.

  1. 01

Make every question earn its place

I mapped each input to a later decision, proposal field, routing rule or follow-up action. If the business could not explain how it would use an answer, the question did not belong in the journey.

  2. 02

Keep the application and CRM consistent

The customer-facing experience and the internal record had to describe the same person, source and stage. I treated synchronization failures as an operational problem, not a background technical detail.

  3. 03

Design the result around the next conversation

The useful outcome was not a decorative result screen. It was a clear route into an advisor conversation with the original context still attached.

Expert insights from the work

What I learned and what I'd ask you to consider.

These are the lessons I took from the work. I would use them as questions for your own implementation, not as a universal recipe.

01

A calculator is part of sales operations

If your calculator generates demand, include the CRM, routing, booking and follow-up teams in the product design. The form is only the visible edge of the system.

02

Preserve the commercial change history

Products change direction. Keep pricing logic, proposal versions and routing rules explicit so your team can understand which experience a lead actually received.

What I would watch next

Keep qualification useful without making the journey feel like an interrogation.

I would keep reviewing which questions genuinely improve the proposal or handoff. A field can be useful internally and still cost the customer too much effort. That trade-off needs real funnel evidence, not instinct alone.
